AMD launches the construction of the second phase of the Bangalore Design Center

According to media reports, AMD CEO Su Zifeng unveiled the second phase of the AMD Technostar Park design center in Bangalore, India on November 24th.

Su Zifeng emphasized the crucial role of the Bangalore Design Center in product development and pointed out that due to rapid growth and innovation, the facility has exceeded initial investment expectations. This expansion highlights India's skilled workforce in hardware and software, in line with the country's goal of becoming a major player in semiconductor manufacturing and artificial intelligence.

AMD remains committed to investing and expanding its research and development business in India. The company had previously promised to invest $400 million in India over five years, but due to accelerated investment and innovation, it may achieve this milestone ahead of schedule.

Su Zifeng revealed that AMD has 27000 employees worldwide, including 8000 engineers in India. She emphasized that every product line of AMD cannot do without an Indian design center, and pointed out that the company has doubled the number of employees in India in the past two years.

It is reported that the AMD Technostar campus is part of the company's plan to invest $400 million in India over the next five years, announced at the 2023 India Semiconductor Show. AMD stated that the campus will become a center of excellence for developing high-performance CPUs, PCs, gaming GPUs, and leading products for adaptive SoCs and FPGAs for embedded devices in data centers.
