On December 2, Yang Qiling, the executive vice general manager of Quanta, a large contract manufacturer in Taiwan, China, said that the demand for AI remained strong, and Quanta orders kept flowing. There was no leakage of water or other parts on Nvidia's latest GB200 AI server, which led to blocked shipments or even cut orders from large manufacturers.
Yang Qiling stated that Quanta has been continuously receiving orders and is currently expanding production. The GB200 AI server will be mass-produced by the end of this quarter and shipped in large quantities in the first quarter of next year as expected.
Recently, there have been reports in the market that GB200 AI servers have experienced water leakage, poor heat dissipation, or poor testing yield of components such as connectors, resulting in shipment delays and even international cloud service providers (CSPs) cutting orders. Yang Qiling emphasized that Quanta has not seen any customers cutting orders. Prior to mass production, they would have continued testing, and it is normal to have any issues. They have also not heard of any information about connector overheating or poor testing yield. The connector manufacturing process is quite complex, but they are all prepared for mass production.
It is reported that Quanta is a representative supplier of artificial intelligence (AI) and works closely with chip giant Nvidia. Driven by strong demand for AI, Quanta's revenue and profit in the third quarter of this year reached a historic high, with earnings per share reaching NT $4.32.
