Samsung's first AI tablet is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9300+chip

Samsung Electronics has released its first AI enabled tablet, the Galaxy Tab S10 series, which is equipped with MediaTek's high-end Dimensity 9300+Application Processor (AP). The launch of this new tablet marks Samsung's first use of MediaTek Dimensity AP to support its mobile devices. Previously, Samsung used Qualcomm Snapdragon chips in its high-end Galaxy Tab series.

Analysts say Samsung has turned to partnering with MediaTek to gain the upper hand in price negotiations with Qualcomm and other AP suppliers.

Samsung's latest tablet comes in two types: Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10+, equipped with 14.6-inch and 12.4-inch displays respectively, both using cutting-edge dynamic AMOLED 2X technology.

Samsung stated that the Galaxy Tab S10 series tablet, bundled with the S Pen stylus, is specifically designed for artificial intelligence (AI).

Compared to the previous generation Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, the performance upgrade of Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra includes an 18% increase in Central Processing Unit (CPU), a 28% increase in Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), and a 14% increase in Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

The Air Command with AI feature of S Pen provides instant access to Galaxy AI Assistant functions without the need to switch between menus. One of the new features offered by the Galaxy Tab S10 series is the Galaxy AI Key.

According to Samsung, the AI Assistant application can be easily launched through the Galaxy AI Key on the Book Cover Keyboard and provides prompts, making it easier for users to choose between Samsung's Bixby and Google Gemini for a customized AI experience. Other cutting-edge AI features include Note Assist and Drawing Assist optimized for tablet appearance.

Samsung stated that the four speaker setup of the tablet series is further enhanced through AI driven "dialogue enhancement", which amplifies sound to eliminate unnecessary noise and produce ultra clear audio.

The artificial intelligence circle search function jointly developed with Google is also applied to the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Using circle search, users can search for any content without switching applications. Samsung stated that with the two parts of the wider screen, users can translate any image, video, or text.

The Galaxy Tab S10 series can also serve as a smart home device with a 3D map view that provides an intuitive overview of the home and all connected devices, simplifying device management for the entire SmartThings ecosystem. Users can also enable SmartThings Energy and AI energy modes to monitor device energy consumption. Samsung Knox security technology ensures data privacy.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10+will be available in specific markets starting from October 3rd, offering two colors - Moonlight Grey and Platinum Gold Silver. It is reported that the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra 256GB model is priced at $1199.99, the 512GB model is priced at $1319.99, and the 1TB model is priced at $1619.99; The Galaxy Tab S10+256GB model is priced at $999.99, while the 512GB model is priced at $1119.99.

With the help of AI tablets, Samsung aims to narrow the market share gap with industry leader Apple iPad.
